The top six placed riders in the 2014 ClassicMXRider.com Pre-68 Championship were presented with their trophies on Sunday at Marks Tey. Here they are in reverse order…
James Newstead finished 4th 2014 championship but was absent from the meeting on Sunday.
Round 1 of the 2015 Pre-68 Championship saw the 2014 Champion, Aaron Graves, get off to a great start, taking the lead in the series opener today at Marks Tey with two wins and a 4th place-finish.
Will Bateup had his best meeting yet by taking his first race win which, coupled with a 2nd and a 3rd, sees him placed second in the championship.
Closely behind were the usual suspects in the form of Gene Womack, Sam Appleton and John Bateup.
The 2013 Champion, Sam Heitman, made a welcomed return to the series and finished with a 4th and two 5th places.

Marks Tey will play host to the first classic motocross meeting of the 2015 season on Sunday as 123 solos and 18 sidecar outfits descend on the Essex-based circuit.
Organised by the Pre-65 Motocross Club, the event will include the club’s championships, as well as our own ClassicMXRider.com Pre-68 Championship.
In pursuit to retain his crown, last year’s champion, Aaron Graves, will be out to kick-start the season opener with a good result. Stiff opposition, as ever, will be heading his way in the form of 2014 runner-up Gene Womack and James Newstead on their big Jawa and Triumph twin machines. Not withstanding a crop of youngsters, who will be entering their second full seasons of classic motocross, Will Bateup, Luke Womack and Greg Speed will be ones to watch as they continue to steadily improve.
