The youngster, from nearby Clifton-upon-Teme, won both the Over 350cc and All Comers classes, and took the fastest time in the process.

Roger Dunford and Tim Dallaway

Roger Dunford (left – 500 BSA) had a good day, finished 4th in the All Comers grand final with a best time of 22.56sec. Tim Dallaway gained the 14th fastest time overall with a 21.25sec run and finished 4th in the All Stars final. Photo by Eric Miles

A heavy downpour the day before meant times were never going to be approaching Tim Dallaway’s fastest time of 20.10sec from last year, or indeed Carl Pope’s record time of 19.58sec, but Crump still managed a very respectable 20.72sec run. Ricky Pedder (650cc Triumph Metisse) close behind with a 20.79sec ascent of the hill.
