Sam Appleton (441 BSA Metisse) took his first wins in the ClassicMXRider.com Pre-68 Championship at Maylandsea.

Bateup took the win in race 1 ahead of Gene Womack, whilst Appleton was ruled out with a puncture.

He made a comeback in race 2, however, taking the lead from Colin Hutton by the end of lap 1, and eventual the win. Womack went straight-on at a turn and was caught in the ropes on lap 3, but managed to complete the race to accrue some points. Will Bateup finished second, just pipping father John on the line.

In race 3, it was Appleton again leading the pack, his 441 BSA Metisse suiting the tight-and-twisty layout. He lead the race all the way to finish line to record not only his first, but second ever race win in the Pre-68 Championship. Will Bateup and Womack finished second and third, respectively.

  • The next round of the ClassicMXRider.com Pre-68 Championship will be run in conjunction with the Pre-65 Motocross Club’s East Anglian Grand National, which will take place at Marks Tey, Essex on Sunday 29th may 2016.
